Our candidate, Democrat Wendy Davis, will affect our community around us by offering higher level services to War Veterans, including better education and treatments for medical illnesses. Davis will also provide better living arrangements for Veterans and their families. This will change our community because everywhere, veterans are being rejected jobs and homes, but because of Wendy Davis, Veterans will not have to suffer the pain of having to go and plead for money to be able to afford treatments. Wendy Davis took will take that pain away.

  2. Republican, Leader, and Period 1. My candidate's plan affects the community around me by his decision. If he decides to cut funds from middle schools it can have a negative approach while if he decides to fund middle school with more money then it can have a positive approach, See, from these examples you can see that their only two options, being negative or being positive. My candidate want to raise more funds and build a foundation on education. My candidate will not cut funds or anything like that, he will always have a positive approach. What ever plant ether of them have it can only be two. Negative or positive. -Catherine Fernandez

  4. Republican for Period 1: My candidate's plan affects the community around me by his speeches. If his speeches promise things he does not fulfill, his supporters will not support his lies and he will lose supporters and voters. If his speeches promise things he does fulfill and he fulfills more than promised, he will gain supporters and he will win the election.

The candidate for the position of Texas governor (Wendy Davis, of the Democratic Party) will affect the community around us by enacting laws and changes pertaining to gun rights, education, and immigration. With gun rights, changes will be enacted that limit one's ability to freely own and use a gun. Remember what happened at Sandy Hook? We absolutely don't need people able to freely wander around, unrestricted, with guns. With the Democratic party in office, changes will be enacted that limit gun ownership and requires people to have a permit to own a gun. With education, the Democrats will make funding public schools a priority. Recently, billions of dollars have been slashed from public education in Texas alone. In HISD, over a million dollars has been cut from the budget ONLY of T. H. Rogers. Not Pin Oak, not Pershing. With funding dropping, the amount of staff on site decreases, decreasing the quality of the education with it. For immigration laws, more security will be placed around the border and illegal immigration will be limited. Recently, thousands of unaccompanied children have been crossing the border into the U. S. with out a parental unit. This illegal immigration could be a problem, along with drugs being smuggled across the border. With the Democratic party in office, these changes will become a reality for the benefit of us all.

The Democratic candidate, Wendy Davis, will affect the community around us through many ways, including freedom, responsibility, equal rights, equal opportunity, a growing economy that should help all Texans, that our lives, homes, and communities should be secure, and especially education, healthcare, and jobs. Wendy Davis will make free and high-standard education a right for everybody. She will also, have children have more critical thinking, creativity, and hands-on activities in school, instead of the conservative Republican paper-and-pencil way. Wendy Davis will also have it that Texans have affordable and higher education and a four year college plan with science, technology, engineering, and math. In Texas, only 25.9% of adults have a Bachelor’s degree or higher and almost 20% of adults lack a high school diploma. Nationally, only 12% of adults did not graduate from high school. We have to make a move for Texas. And that is why Wendy Davis is making a move now, before it is too late. Additionally, Wendy Davis believes that Texans have a right to good jobs that support their families and invest in the future and plans on letting that happen. Wendy Davis wants the economy to work for the upper, middle, and lower class. She plans on leveling the playing field in favor of small businesses, Texas jobs, and the Texas economy. According to Wendy Davis, the only way to boost the economy of Texas and eventually of the United States is to provide better jobs for citizens. In Houston, there is a 5.6% unemployment rate, and in the state of Texas, it is 5.1%. That means that in greater Houston, over 0.3 million people have unemployment, and in Texas, about 1.35 million people do not have jobs. Finally, she also believes that health care is a right, not a privilege for the rich. She will implement the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act”, which will improve healthcare and allow millions more to get this better healthcare. She plans on challenging the Legislature to mandate the Texas Department of State Health Service and Attorney General to require tax-exempt, private, non-profit hospitals and health care delivery that earn their tax-exempt by providing their community with free health screening clinics. In conclusion, Wendy Davis will make our society a better place to live, especially through education, healthcare, and jobs, in order to help Texas and the USA.
